Angiographic procedures

Angiographic procedures

Angiographic procedures are surgeries guided by a medical imaging technique used to visualize the lumen of blood vessels and organs of the body. This is traditionally done by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessel and imaging using X-ray based techniques. Access to the vascular system is most often obtained through the femoral, brachial/radial or arteries or corresponding veins.

Hybrid procedures combine minimally invasive and open cardiac surgical interventions with catheter-based coronary interventions.
