These modules examine the assessment, management and prevention of venous leg ulcers. Venous Leg Ulcers are a chronic condition that can cause a large financial burden on health care systems as well as affecting the quality of life of the patient. These easy to follow modules should be of help to all clinicians who work in this important area

 

Module 1 - Introduction

This module goes through the scale costs and impact of Venous leg ulcers and the type of models used to manage the condition

Module 2 – Aetiology of leg ulceration

This module goes through the different causes of Leg Ulcers and what to do at the assessment stage

Module 3 - Clinical assessment

This module brings up the different conditions and goes through the Doppler ABPI - its calculation and interpretation

Module 4 - Assessment of the venous leg ulcer

In this module we bring up that assessment is the important part that helps establish the diagnosis and the treatment plan

Module 5 - Wound management

In this module we look at the treatment of the wound itself including the skin care, the wound including absence of pain and/and or infection and very importantly compression

Module 6 - Dressing

This module explain how to apply popular dressings from Mölnlycke Health Care including Mepilex and Mepilex Border

Module 7 - Compression Therapy

This module goes through the various aspects of compression therapy
